fair enough - but what does this module position do??

under a new page added the module position item
then not knowing what the outcome would be entered the followig variables:

Title : Module Position
Alias : module-position
Publish: y
Show on homepage: n
module position : Left

on the front end when i navigate to that page the Left hand navigation now appears in the middle column. (as well as on the left)

Ok.. so it looks like it could move menus around??

could you give me a scenario/s where this would be used - do i make up my own title and alias or do i have to use and existing module name? what are the acceptable variable for mdodule position?

itemtype module position gives you the option to place a module in the content area. Ofcourse you can also use the module position-plugin in the default Joomla distribution, but thats not integrated in Pages-and-Items :)
The alternative is www.pages-and-items.com/plugin-module-in-article/, which might be easyer to use, some people claim.

What to use a module in content for? well, you can position a login in between content, or a search-box, or a (custom) menu or a poll, just any module really. That just gives developers and designers a lot more options when making a site.
