I've exactly the same problem, only difference is using a Warp5 Menu from YooTheme.

Have a look on www2.vusa.travel, this is the menu it looks before replacing...
Maybe you can tell me what piece of code I've to enter in
- Menu Class Suffix
- Module Class Suffix

actual settings:

Module Parameters:
- Menu Style: List
- Start Level: 0
- End Level: 3
- Show Sub Items: YES

Advanced Parameter:
- Menu Class Suffix: dropdown
- Module Class Suffix: _menu

I do not need to migrate to 1.6.

The menu you are using produces nothing like the normal menu-module output, just look at the HTML. That is not even a list-style menu. Terrible code.

I'm sorry, but I can not create menu modules for every kind of joomla-menu extension out there. If you can code, you can look into the code of the FUA menu module and build that into your menu-module.

I would really like to help you, but fixing this menu-module to work with FUA would take a few hours work and I can not possibly do that for each menu-extension.

For the menu shown in www2.vusa.travel the standard mod_mainmenu is used.
The YooTheme Menu Layout for the top menu is implemented by entering the suffix 'dropdown' (formerly menu-dropdown) in the Menu Class Suffix.
(accordion suffix is alternatively used for menues eg on the left side)

I found a folder templates\mytemplate\html\mod_mainmenu with some php files.

Can you give me a hint which files I have to patch?
mod_mainmenu files of joomla ?
files in the dir above ?

May be there's an easier way to get the dropdown and accordion suffix work in the mod_frontend_user_access_menu ?
