Hi

First of all - please forgive my stupidity but I think I've misunderstood the concept of Pages and Items or - what I require is so obvious that I should go back to the manual on Joomla!

When I create a new page in pages and items it creates it in category blog layout.

What I want to do is create it in article layout.

Is this possible.

Sorry if I've missed something.

no, not possible. You can create a page and add one item for the same effect.

Thanks Carsten

I understand a little better how to make use of Pages and Items now (I think!).

My primary goal is to make it as simple as possible for users to submit content to their area with the minimum of confusion. I'm so glad I found this.

On a side note - and this is not the place to post it so I apologise, but can I ask if you will still be developing AUA when J! 1.6 is completed?

yes. What I have seen from J 1.6 does not convice me that there will be no need for AUA in the future. Soon AUA will be rebuild in the MVC-model to be fully 1.6 compatible.
