Installing component Admin-User-Access

  1. Go to the Admin-User-Access page.
  2. Download the component for your version of Joomla.
  3. Install the component as a component.
    For Joomla 1.0.x:
    1. Go to 'installers > components'.
    2. At 'Install new component' click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'com_admin_user_access'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
    For Joomla 1.5.x:
    1. Go to 'Extensions > Install/Uninstall'.
    2. Click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'com_admin_user_access'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
   

Installing the backend module for Admin-User-Access

  1. Go to the Admin-User-Access page.
  2. Download the module for your version of Joomla for the backend.
  3. Install the module.
    For Joomla 1.0.x:
    1. Go to 'Installers > Modules'.
    2. At 'Install new Modules' click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'mod_admin_user_access_backend'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
    4. Go to 'Modules > Administrator Modules > admin user access'.
    5. Set position -> 'header'.
    6. Set publish -> 'yes'.
    7. Click 'save'.
    For Joomla 1.5.x:
    1. Go to 'Extensions > Install/Uninstall'.
    2. Click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'mod_admin_user_access_backend'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
    4. Go to 'Extensions > Module Manager > Administrator > admin user access'.
    5. Set enabled -> 'yes'.
    6. Set position -> 'menu'.
    7. Set order -> right above 'admin menu'.
    8. Click 'save'.
   

Installing the frontend module for Admin-User-Access

  1. Go to the Admin-User-Access page.
  2. Download the module for your version of Joomla for the frontend.
  3. Install the module.
    For Joomla 1.0.x:
    1. Go to 'Installers > Modules'.
    2. At 'Install new Modules' click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'mod_admin_user_access_frontend'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
    4. Go to 'Modules > admin user access frontend'.
    5. Set  position to a position which is on each page in your site. Usually 'left' is save.
    6. Set publish -> 'yes'.
    7. Hide the title.
    8. Click 'save'.
    For Joomla 1.5.x:
    1. Go to 'Extensions > Install/Uninstall'.
    2. Click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
      The file name starts with 'mod_admin_user_access_frontend'.
    3. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
      The file is being uploaded and installed.
    4. Go to 'Extensions > Module Manager > admin user access frontend'.
    5. Set enabled -> 'yes'.
    6. Set  position to a position which is on each page in your site. Usually 'left' is save.
    7. Hide the title.
    8. Click 'save'.
   

Installing the user plugin for Admin-User-Access

The user plugin is only for the trial-version and pro-version. Not for the free-version.

The user plugin is only available for Joomla 1.5.x. Not for Joomla 1.0.x

  1. Go to the Admin-User-Access page.
  2. Download the user-plugin.
  3. Go to 'Extensions' > 'Install/Uninstall'.
  4. Click 'browse' and select the file which you just downloaded.
    The file name starts with 'plugin_admin_user_access_user'.
  5. Click 'Upload File & Install'.
    The file is being uploaded and installed.
  6. Go to 'extensions' > 'plugin manager'.
  7. Click on plugin 'Admin-User-Access (user)'.
  8. At 'Enabled:' select 'Yes'.
  9. Click 'save'.
