Update instructions

from version 2.0.4 and higher to latest version

Update the pro-version with the downloads supplied on the download-page at 'my extensions'.

1. install the latest version of component Admin-User-Access over the currently installed version
2. install the latest version of the module Admin-User-Access (backend) over the existing module
3. install the latest version of the Admin-User-Access system plugin over the existing plugin
4. install the latest version of the Admin-User-Access user plugin over the existing plugin

All restrictions and configuration will be saved as the database tables do not get deleted on uninstall/upgrade.

from version 2.0.3 to version 2.0.4

 

1. uninstall module Admin-User-Access (backend
2. install module Admin-User-Access (backend) version 2.0.7
3. go to the module manager > administrator
4. enable the module, and read the recommended settings for the module carefully.
5. uninstall component Admin-User-Access
6. install component Admin-User-Access version 2.0.4
7. open theAdmin-User-Access configuration
   components > admin-user-access > configuration
8. click 'apply'.

All restrictions and configuration will be saved as the database tables do not get deleted on uninstall.

from version 2.0.2 to version 2.0.3

 

1. uninstall module Admin-User-Access (backend) version 2.0.4
2. install module Admin-User-Access (backend) version 2.0.5
3. uninstall module Admin-User-Access (frontend) version 2.0.2
4. install module Admin-User-Access (frontend) version 2.0.3
5. go to the module manager
6. enable both modules, and read the recommended settings of each of the modules carefully.
7. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 2.0.2
8. install component Admin-User-Access version 2.0.3
9. open theAdmin-User-Access configuration
   components > admin-user-access > configuration
10. click 'apply'.

7. go to the module manager

9. install the new plugin
10. enable the plugin in the plugin-manager (type = user)
11. open theAdmin-User-Access configuration
    components > admin-user-access > configuration
12. click 'apply'.

1. uninstall component Admin-User-Acces

8. enable the module, set its position to a module position which is on each page (like 'footer' or 'left'), hide the title and make sure the module is assigned to 'all' menu's (pages).

from version 1.2.7 to version 1.2.8

1. If you want to save your configuration, take notes or open the current config in a browser tab and don't close it.
   When you reinstalled everything you can synchcronize the new config with the old.
   This will be the last time you will have to do this, as in this version the config is in the database and next time you update all config is saved, so you don't have to backup-synch or redo your config any more.
2. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.7
3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.8
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access (backend) version 1.0.9
5. install module Admin-User-Access (backend) version 1.0.10
6. go to the module manager and publish the module to the right position, as instructed
7. uninstall module Admin-User-Access (frontend) version 1.0.1
8. install module Admin-User-Access (frontend) version 1.0.2
9. go to the module manager
10. enable the module, set its position to a module position which is on each page (like 'footer' or 'left'), hide the title and make sure the module is assigned to 'all' menu's (pages).
11. open the configuration and carefully read all the settings and adjust them to match your old config.
12. click 'save', to save your configuration

from version 1.2.5 and 1.2.6 to version 1.2.7

1. Make a backup of your configuration-file.
   administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/configuration.php
   Save the file anywhere but in the directory com_pi_admin_user_access (or else deinstallation goes wrong)
2. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.5 or 1.2.6
3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.7
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.7 or 1.0.8
5. install module Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.9
6. go to the module manager and publish the module to the right position
7. uninstall plugin Admin-User-Access (system plugin) version 1.0.5
8. install module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.0
9. go to the module manager
10. enable the module, set its position to a module position which is on each page (like 'footer' or 'left'), hide the title and make sure the module is assigned to 'all' menu's (pages).
11. paste your old configuration-file back into administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/
12. open the configuration
13. click 'save', to save your configuration

from version 1.2.4 to version 1.2.5

1. Make a backup of your configuration-file.
   administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/configuration.php
   Save the file anywhere but in the directory com_pi_admin_user_access (or else deinstallation goes wrong)

3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.5
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.6
5. install module Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.7
6. go to the module manager and publish the module to the right position
7. uninstall plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.4
8. install plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.5
9. go to the plugin manager and enable the plugin
10. paste your old configuration-file back into administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/
11. open the configuration
12. click 'save', to save your configuration

from version 1.2.3 to version 1.2.4

1. Take a good look at your configuration, if needed, take notes of each configuration-tab.
2. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.3
3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.4
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.5
5. install module Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.6
6. uninstall plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.3
7. install plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.4
8. open the configuration and read every option carefully. Set everything as in the old configuration.
9. click 'save', to save your configuration
10. if you have a licensekey, go to 'configuration' > 'general' > 'enter key'. Paste your key in the textfield and click 'save'. If you can't remember your key, login to this site and click on 'my license keys'.

from version 1.2.2 to version 1.2.3

1. Backup you configuration-file. When upgraded you can overwrite the new configuration-file.
   You can find it here:
   administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/configuration.php
2. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.2
3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.3
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.4
5. install module Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.5
6. uninstall plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.2
7. install plugin Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.3
8. Paste the old configuration-file over the new configuration.php
9. Open the configuration page, tab 'page access'
10. Select the menus you where using.
11. Save configuration.php

from version 1.2.1 to version 1.2.2

1. Backup you configuration-file. When upgraded you can overwrite the new configuration-file.
   You can find it here:
   administrator/components/com_pi_admin_user_access/configuration.php
2. uninstall component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.1
3. install component Admin-User-Access version 1.2.2
4. uninstall module Admin-User-Access version 1.0.2
5. install module Admin-User-Access version version 1.0.3
6. Paste the old configuration-file over the new configuration.php
7. Change language from "en" to "english" or "nl" to "dutch"
8. Save configuration.php

from version 1.1.1 to version 1.2.1

Backup you configuration-file. The old configuration-file is not compatible with the new version, but you can use it for reference.

You can find it here:

Just uninstall version 1.1.1 and install 1.2.1.

from version 1.1.0 to version 1.1.1
