Doesn't Seem To Be Working

Hey. I have just installed this feature, and carried out a few tests and it doesn't seem to be working.
I have a user, who is set to publisher access rights (as they need to edit and upload stuff), however I only want them to have access to 1 category and not the entire site.

I created a usergroup called "Standards & Performance", I added this staff member to this group and then under "Category Access", I made sure everything was ticked apart from the "Standards & Performance" section. Hopefully restricting them from editing any other section apart from the "Standards & Performance" area.

Any help will be very much appreciated

Oh ...I think I should add that, the user doesn't have any access to the back-end of joomla (the administration section), only the front-end.

so when that user logged in at the frontend, and creates or edits an article, how many categories do you see in the category-selector?

I'm not sure if I'm using this correct to be honest.
What I want, is that when the user is logged in on the very front of the website, they can't see the edit pencil, however when they use the menu and go to their section "Standards & Performance", the edit pencil is there.

Thank you sooo much. I didn't realise the pencil still appeared. I'd done it back to front and gave them access to every thing but the correct section, but I've sorted it now and everything works perfectly. Chuffed to pieces
