Can't get hyperlinked text to work was created by rgarland
I'm using Joomla! 1.5.22. I've installed and enabled the plugin.

I took the examples right from the demo page and inserted them into an article. I inserted the following:

*** #1 ***
{tooltip}link{end-link}tooltip{end-tooltip}

This works and shows up fine.

On the screen: "link" with dots
Upon hover: the word 'tooltip'

Great so far. But, the following doesn't work:

*** #2 ***
{tooltip href=" www.joomla.org " target="_blank"}tooltip with hyperlink{end-link}to Joomla.org{end-tooltip}

On the screen: "tooltip with hyperlink" with dots (CORRECT)

However, upon hover and click: The hyperlink is pre-pended with my local http path, and then fails for obvious reasons. It looks something like this (the code is cleaned up, with real quotes, etc.):

http://localhost/joomla/index.php/products/"http://www.joomla.org"

Anyone with any idea why this would be happening?

In HTML, when you make a link to another website, you got to include 'http://' before the url.

OK, I should have been more clear about what I actually typed in (with HTML translation, it's difficult).

But here it is (by making use of HTML escape characters):

{tooltip href="http:/ / www.joomla.org " target="_blank"} my hyperlink {end-link} tooltip text here {end-tooltip}

This is the exact syntax shown in the example on page: www.pages-and-items.com/extensions/plugin-pure-css-tooltip/

But here it is (by making use of HTML escape characters):

use the code-brackets in the editor. You will see those in most forums for displaying code.

I assume you use this code:

{tooltip href=" www.joomla.org " target="_blank"} my hyperlink {end-link} tooltip text here {end-tooltip}

After you save this in the editor, open the article in the editor again and open code-view. What code do you see? I am wondering if the editors configuration for the base-path could have something to do with this.

What is the html-output on your page with the above code?

Thanks for the reply. I got this to work by reinstalling the plugin. It must have gotten corrupted somehow.
