Cannot assign group to menu items was created by sbohler2@gmail.com
Joomla 3.4.8
Admin-Menu-Manager 2.2.4

I have a users group: Super Users Limited. Parent: Super Users.

Access level Special includes this ^ group.

In Admin Menu Manager, my Super Users Limited group is not available via the Access dropdown. The groups in the dropdown are Super Users, Manager and Administrator.

Help please. What did I do wrong?

Thank you,
Scott Bohler

Admin-Menu-Manager is default configurated to work with Joomla groups. If you want it to work with accesslevels, go to the Admin-Menu-Manager configuration and at 'Access based on' select 'accesslevels'.

I don't want to deal with accesslevels. I was just describing my configuration.

All I want to do is create a group "Super Users Limited" under Super Users and assign a limited Admin menu to it.

My created group "Super Users Limited" doesn't appear in Admin-Menu-Manager's Access dropdown for me to select.

My question is why is my group not select-able / how do I do this? It seems intuitive, but I can't select my group.

Help.

Thanks,
Scott

Ah! Got it.
The groups are filtered to only show the backend groups. But it appears only child groups of the super-user-group don't get Joomla backend login access, but get core.admin ACL right. Which needs to be checked differently. Sorry about that.

here is the fix.

file
administrator/components/com_adminmenumanager/helpers/adminmenumanager.php
line 98 (assuming pro version)
//get configured backend groups
		$temp = $asset_array['core.login.admin'];
		for($n = 0; $n < count($temp); $n++){
			$row = each($temp);
			if($row['value']=='1'){
				$this->set_backend_usergroup($row['key']);
			}
		}
replace with
//get configured backend groups
		$temp = $asset_array['core.login.admin'];
		for($n = 0; $n < count($temp); $n++){
			$row = each($temp);
			if($row['value']=='1'){
				$this->set_backend_usergroup($row['key']);
			}
		}

		//get groups inherited from super user
		$temp = $asset_array['core.admin'];
		for($n = 0; $n < count($temp); $n++){
			$row = each($temp);
			if($row['value']=='1'){
				$this->set_backend_usergroup($row['key']);
			}
		}

This will be included in next and future updates. (I can't tell you a date for that)

Thanks for letting me know.
